Part 1: Manoeuvres
Players have one ball each.
Players run around area with ball on stick for 45-seconds, then move the ball while standing still for 45-seconds as active rest.
Repeat 3-times.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on ball throughout movements. Low body position, keep head up, identify space, constantly change direction
Part 2: Eliminations
1 player from each team carries the ball, moving it left and right at speed around the whole box.
As they return to the start, the next person will go.
Coach times 1.30 minutes. Repeat in opposite direction for 1.30 minutes
Score 1 point for each completed rotation.
COACHING POINTS
Keep ball central to body, stick on the ball, fluid movement. Focus on speed, keep moving forward, change angle.
Part 3: Connections
Players start on opposite sides of the square.
First person in each group carries at speed, moving the ball left and right towards middle.
When they get to the middle cone, pull the ball right and then make a pass to the opposite side. Jog to the back of the group.
While players are waiting for their turn, they move the ball statically.
Score = each pass counts 1 point.
Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat 3 times with aim to beat score each time.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on ball, focus on angles, head up to see other players. Change speed (accelerate/decelerate) into space, keep feet and hands moving.
Part 4: Small Group Gameplay
2 v 1 Rotations.
Within specified area, 2 attacking players take on 1 defender.
Score by running the ball over the end line with control.
After scoring, play 1 v 2. Change defender after 1-minute intervals.
COACHING POINTS
Be aggressive in attack, change angle of defender, use misdirection. Identify when to eliminate and when to pass. Speed of thought, ball movement and footwork, intensity on and off the ball.
